About Me
My name is Chia Hinchliff. I am a new teacher at Fieldbrook Elementary. I have really enjoyed working with your loved ones and helping to facilitate a learning environment where students are engaged in movement-based activities and developing an appreciation for physical activity.  Some of my favorite types of physical activities include hiking, running, kayaking, in addition to group classes, such as Barre, HIIT, Spartan, and Olympic Lift. Over the last couple of years, I have participated in various races in the community including the Foggy Bottom Milk Run, Avenue of the Giants 1/2 Marathon, and the Clam Beach Run. I love running with friends and I enjoy inspiring a passion for physical activity in others.
Outside of my love of physical activities, I enjoy the social sciences, physical and life sciences, and arts and humanities. I love to learn. I hope to inspire that same passion in others. I started my own educational journey at a small, rural K-12 school district in San Diego County. After graduating high school, I attended a community college and obtained an A.A. in Behavorial and Social Sciences. Later, I transferred to a four-year college where I earned a B.A. in Anthropology and Psychology from the University of Santa Cruz, CA. Next, I have earned a M.A. in Anthropology from Washington State University. Most recently, I have earned a teaching credential from Humboldt State University.
I am thrilled to be a part of the Fieldbrook Elementary School District and I look forward to building relationships with community members and key stakeholder associated with the school district. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
