Brunner's Bulletin - Week of Oct. 21
Happy Monday Awesome 5/6 Families,
Brunner’s Bulletin
- If you would like to view your students' grades/assignments, please check out PowerSchool on the school's main website (home page → "family and community" → "PowerSchool parent portal"). If you need to set up an account or if you've forgotten your login information, please contact Naomi at [email protected] or (707) 839-3201.
- This week, we are starting a new unit in Science: Geology on Mars. Students will have an Investigation and Article Packet that students will record their learning and annotate articles. We are continuing writing a Spooky Narrative, while learning a new writing strategy (RACE) which prompts strong article responses (detailed on our emailed version of the newsletter).
- Students were given a blue flier to give information regarding the school announcement systems. Please opt in to receive messages to stay in the loop with school-wide events.
- This month’s Friday Fun Day is this Friday the 25th. We will honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month and wear all the pink!
- We have a fundraising meeting this Wednesday in room 8 at 5:30. We will solidify Bingo Night info and discuss anything else needed. Please do your best to come and help.
- We are going on a field trip to the movies on Friday to see The Wild Robot with first grade through eighth grade. I sent home a yellow permission slip today, please sign it so your student can return it tomorrow. Please notice that we are asking for $5 to pay for the movie snack pack (popcorn, gummies and a drink). Please send that in with the signed permission slip. Please arrive at school on time because we will leave at 8:45 and return around 11:45.
- We will also have Fall Field Day between recess and lunch as an entire school outside put on by the Boosters.
- It is basketball season time and we are looking for refs for the JV and Varsity teams. We paid $30 a game. Please contact me or the office if you can or know anyone who will be able to help. Thank you.
- As the rainy season is approaching, I’m looking to enhance our classroom experience with board games, which promote social interaction, critical thinking, patience, and creativity while providing a great screen-free alternative. If you have any board games to donate, I would greatly appreciate your support!
Kaney’s 6th Grade Math Update
Note From Ms. Kaney about 6th Grade Math: 6th Graders are working hard, as usual. I like seeing the teamwork as students work with different partners each week. They seem to be cooperative in completing homework as well. Be sure to check mistakes of the corrected packets to learn from mistakes as well.
