Happy May room 8 families!
Here’s what I know:
~ Boosters is putting on a LEGO rumble on Tuesday 5/13. Please see the flyer in the weekly update from the office for more details.
~ We have more fun things happening this week: continued art with a guest teacher and another afternoon in the garden with yet another guest teacher, to divide and plant dahlias.
~ We will be having mini classes again this year. They will be 1:00-2:30 on Wednesday June 4th and Thursday June 5th. Please reach out if you are able to lead a class.
~ We would love to have you come in and teach something to the class. If you are interested, please let me know.
~ It’s yearbook time! If you have pictures of school events that you would like to share, please email them to [email protected]. Thank you!
~ There is a school board meeting next Monday 5/12 at 5:30.
8th grade only: Please get us your student’s baby photo and yearbook write-up as soon as possible!!
Message about S.E.L. (Social emotional learning) with Ms. Taylor:
As our weather is getting better, I will be incorporating the garden for our SELs. This will include introducing the topic of our lesson, reflecting and having a discussion, and then working on a task. Garden tasks may include watering, pulling weeds, planting seeds as well as vegetables into the garden beds. Going out to the garden may not occur every lesson, however, I want to make sure it happens often. I will also be incorporating mindfulness-based activities and practices for our garden/SEL lessons. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out by emailing [email protected]
Please make sure to read the weekly update sent from the office each week for information on other topics.
Have a great week,
Katie Loomis
