About Mr. Benavides

Greetings Families,

 

My name is Matthew Benavides. I am happy to be with everyone this year. I am originally from Fresno, California. I worked in after care for most of my twenties. Eventually I graduated from Fresno State with a BA in Philosophy. My professors and advisors all said the same thing. I can either go into law or education with my degree. I decided to go into education since I had enjoyed my job.

 

I taught in Fresno for a few years. My first years teaching was online and later hybrid due to the pandemic. I then moved to Nampa, Idaho with my family. I was trying to move to a cooler climate with less wildfire pollution. I moved back to California after one year in Idaho. I still wanted to be as far north as possible in CA so I landed in Arcata. I taught at Pacific Union for a few years before coming over to Fieldbrook. I look forward to getting to know everyone and their families this year.
